There is strong opposition in Tamil Nadu to the NEED examination conducted for medical colleges across the country. At this point, six members of the People's Path began a series of hunger strikes until their deaths last Monday at their office in Chinmaya, Chennai.

Ara Aruna, Chandramohan, Aravind, Tamilselvi, Geetha and Kasi Nagathurai were involved in the hunger strike. Opposition leaders also expressed support for the strike.

In this situation, the police who came to the Chennai People's Path office this morning arrested six people who were on a hunger strike. They were rushed to the Kilpauk Hospital in Chennai by ambulance.

The 47 people who had gathered outside the office at the time were arrested and placed in a nearby wedding hall. However, Chandramohan of the People's Path organization has accused the police of behaving inappropriately when arresting them.

"All 6 people who were fasting were beaten. They hit me on the head. They grabbed the women's t-shirt. We are going to continue our hunger strike. The police have smashed our office," he says.

Police were not allowed to meet those who had been admitted to Kilpauk Hospital due to the fast.

Chandramohan later told reporters at 7.30 pm, "The government has not yet come to negotiate our struggle. We have waged this struggle for the people, but they have called for an end to the struggle. Said.

Currently, barricades are being set up to prevent anyone from approaching the People's Path office.

Executives belonging to the People's Path Organization in Coimbatore, Ramanathapuram and Thiruvannamalai districts also took part in the protest from this morning.
